The worldwide leader in secure identity solutions, HID Global, announces today their new on-metal tags that are designed to withstand any environments requiring metal applications while complying and evolving with the industry standards. These new technologies are called Brick Tag Ceramic UHF transponders and Slimflex HF OM Tags.
With the company’s commitment to the rapid expansion of RFID, these new tags offer solutions to the rapid expansion for industrial, Internet of Things (IoT), and near field communications (NFC) applications.
According to Richard Aufreiter, director of product management for Identification Technologies with HID Global, transponders need to keep up with the demands of the industry for more security and sophisticated IoT and NFC applications. Transponders must perform regardless of the shape or component materials, size and the deployment environment.
He also added that the company is also focusing on the development of new and innovative tag configurations and cross-functional capabilities.
These new tags are the best examples of how the company is leading the industry when it comes to the RFID technology.
Furthermore, Aufreiter emphasized the company’s membership in the RAIN RFID Alliance.
RAID RFID is a global organization that promotes the universal adoption of UHF technology. The company’s membership is one of the concrete evidences that HID Global is a staunch advocate of the standardization of UHF RFID technology.
Moreover, in order to maximize and facilitate the long-lasting fixture of Brick tags, the company partners with the leading solution provider for adhesives, sealants and functional coatings – Henkel.
HID Global collaborates with Henkel to select the best and the right adhesives to match the demanding environments for tags. One good example of this collaboration is that the new Brick Tag Ceramic UHF transponder, which is used for specific solutions, can withstand medical device and industrial applications.
Brick Tag Ceramic UHF transponders
The new Brick Tag Ceramic transponders are best for applications on metal assets to include tools, weaponry and surgical instruments. More features of the Brick Tag Ceramic include:
- smallest UHF tags that are available in four sizes;
- hard exterior casing to protect the transponders from exposure to extreme conditions;
- optimized for both EU and US readers; and
- 512-bit memory that is readable and writable.
Slimflex HF OM Tags
SimpFlex HF OM (on-metal) tags, on the other hand, are best for industrial applications such as safety checks on equipment for preventive and corrective maintenance.
- It supports the new NFC-V standard and HF applications
- It has a portable measurement of 3” x 1” (83 x 25 mm) and 6mm thin
- It has thermoplastic elastomer
- It is flexible when affixing to other objects with its 3 mount holes per side.
